BRANDON, SD (June 23, 2023) – Logan Schuchart has put himself in a position to make Sprint Car history.
Entering this week, the Hanover, PA native didn’t own a top-five finish at Huset’s Speedway. On Thursday night he changed that with a strong fourth. And then on Friday the driver of the Shark Racing #1S turned in a masterful drive to top the final prelim night of the Billion Auto Huset’s High Bank Nationals presented by Menards.
Schuchart slipped around the outside of Spencer Bayston on lap five, fended off a few challenges from Buddy Kofoid, and cruised to his second World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car victory of 2023 and the 37th of his career and pocketed $20,000. That mark gives him sole possession of 19th on the all-time Series win list. Huset’s is now the 21st different track he’s won at in World of Outlaws competition.
But the larger picture is the more important one for Schuchart and his Shark Racing crew. The back-to-back effective prelim outings positioned them atop the points heading into Saturday’s finale where a $250,000 payday – the largest in World of Outlaws history – awaits the winner. He’s guaranteed a spot in the King of the Hill that will line up the front four rows of the Feature. The Pennsylvania team that joined the World of Outlaws tour in 2014 with an uncertain future ahead now has a chance at the biggest paycheck in the World of Outlaws’ more than 45 years of history.
“Happy we were able to hold on. $20,000 is a lot of money, but we’re focused on $250,000 tomorrow,” Schuchart said. “I feel like I roll this racetrack really good right now when everything is right. I feel like we have as good of a shot as anybody. For any big race, it feels good to roll into with confidence.”
Schuchart began the 35-lap main event next to pole-sitter Spencer Bayston. When the green lights flashed, Bayston was able to slide ahead for the early advantage. But Schuchart didn’t let him get far away.
Bayston worked the bottom line aboard his CJB Motorsports #5 while Schuchart explored the high line. Almost immediately, Schuchart began to close in. The 30-year-old ripped around the cushion and moved in on Bayston’s tail tank. On the fifth circuit, Schuchart found the run he needed to power into the lead.
For Schuchart, he actually felt that not getting the lead on the initial start was beneficial to knowing where he needed to be on the track and moving into the top spot.
“There in the beginning I was kind of happy to not get the lead there at the start,” Schuchart explained. “I wanted to see how the racetrack was moving around for a little bit. Then once we got to the top, I could kind of gauge how I wanted to do my starts, and once we got going, I could get to the top and start making momentum.”
Once Schuchart snagged the lead, he pulled ahead while behind him, Buddy Kofoid rolled into the runner-up spot by Bayston.
As the laps clicked away, Kofoid stayed roughly a second behind Schuchart within striking distance. When Schuchart would clear a lapped car, Kofoid would follow suit. Each time there was restart, Kofoid didn’t let Schuchart get too far ahead.
One last stoppage in the race set up a three-lap dash to the finish, and Schuchart saved perhaps his best restart for last. He roared away from Kofoid and drove with a comfortable advantage to the checkered flag for the win and the High Bank Nationals points lead.
“Yeah, it’s huge,” Schuchart said of being atop the standings. “It’s big. We want to be able to be there at the end of the night, put ourselves in position. If you’re starting 10th or 15th or wherever it’s going to be tough, but we have a great shot.”

ROSSBURG, OHIO – Logan Schuchart loves racing at historic Eldora Speedway in western Ohio and Friday night he was the class of the field in the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series #LetsRaceTwo opener. Schuchart led 29 of the 30 laps behind the wheel of the Drydene/DuraMAX C&D Rigging Federated Auto Parts Shark Racing No. 1s to score his first WoO triumph of 2023 and 36th of his career.
“I love racing at Eldora,” said Schuchart. “My guys Brendon Collum and Lonnie Judy worked hard this week putting a new car together and it was a rocket. We were fast from when we unloaded and just kept getting better. This team is here to win races and we’re making big gains on it. This place is going to have some pretty big races in July and we want to be right there battling for wins. Racing with the World of Outlaws prepares you for those big shows. Every night, every spot is so tough. Cherish the win and move to the next race, because it’s going to take everything going right to get that one.”
Schuchart was fast out of the box earning his second fast qualifier of the year before winning the third heat. He finished third in the Toyota Dash to start the 30-lap main on the inside of row two. He wasted no time taking the lead on the opening lap. The Hanover, PA native set a torrid pace and maneuvered traffic to perfection during the main event. Late in the race, Rico Abreu slid Schuchart to lead lap 29, but Schuchart made a turn one pass to retake the lead and drove away to score his fourth win at Tony Stewart’s half-mile dirt oval.
“Really happy to get everyone that helps us a win,” continued Schuchart. “Obviously, that first one always seems to be the hardest. We couldn’t do this without great partners like Drydene, DuraMax, C&D Rigging, Federated Auto Parts, Shiloh Paving & Excavating and Williams Grading. They all love this sport and have been right there with us. We’re going to do everything we can to keep getting them in victory lane.”
On Saturday, Schuchart was extremely fast as he qualified second in the field of 41 cars, won the third heat race to earn a spot in the Toyota Dash. After finishing eighth in the six-lap dash, he lined up for the feature outside of row four. The feature didn’t go as planned with Schuchart unknowingly running over debris in the early laps causing his right rear tire to explode seven laps into the race. The explosion sent Schuchart into the turnout wall. Despite a heroic effort to get repairs made, Schuchart wasn’t able to return to action and was credited with a 24th place finish.
After 17 of 81 scheduled races, Schuchart ranks fourth in the World of Outlaws championship standings. He turns his focus to his hometown track, Lincoln Speedway, for Wednesday night’s WoO Gettysburg Clash. A pair of races at historic Williams Grove Speedway Friday and Saturday concludes the Outlaws second of four visits to the Keystone state in 2023.

Consistency was a stated goal for World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series driver Logan Schuchart entering the 2023 campaign. The driver of the Drydene/DuraMax backed Shark Racing 1s kicked off the 2023 racing season at the 52nd Federated Auto Parts DIRTcar Nationals at Volusia Speedway Park near Barberville, Florida with four nights of action this past week. The Hanover, PA native earned finishes of second, ninth, fifth and third before Saturday’s finale was postponed because of rain to March 5.
“We wanted to get out of the box with some good runs and be consistent every night,” said Schuchart. “We are down here chasing trophies. We didn’t get one yet, but we’re competing for them. The guys did a great job getting us ready to come down here. They also did a good job working together each night at the races too. We had to battle the weather a little bit, but hats off to track guys for giving us a good surface to race on. All of us are excited to get back down here in March get back on the track. We have another good opportunity and will keep digging.”
The week of action was filled with several highlights for Schuchart including: storming from fourth to first during the opening lap of Tuesday’s All-Star Circuit of Champions main event, winning Outlaw heat races Thursday, Friday and Saturday and earning top qualifying honors on Friday night.

HANOVER, PA (Sept. 5, 2022) – One month ago World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series star Logan Schuchart entered the biggest event of the Sprint Car Racing season, the 61st NOS Energy Drink Knoxville Nationals in Knoxville, Iowa with a purpose. His goal was to join his legendary grandfather Bobby Allen as a Knoxville Nationals champion and during this journey he was raising awareness for military members through a donation push for Roots for Boots, the grassroots non-profit whose mission is to meet the current needs and challenges of our veterans, active duty and military families.
Schuchart concluded a tremendous week of action in Iowa with two wins and a charge from 17th to third in the Knoxville Nationals finale and also served his country by helping those that have and continue to serve. Shark Racing Apparel committed to donating a percentage of each “Logan Schuchart 2022 Nationals” design items sold during the month of August to Roots for Boots.The result was win-win as more than $600 was raised for the local organization.
“We are all really excited about how this all worked out,” said Schuchart. “It was great to honor my dad, Craig Schuchart, a marine and all the military. My mom (Dana Allen) helped all of this come together and the shirts were a big hit. We take a lot of pride in being patriotic and being able to give to those that served is really something special.”
Schuchart spends his life on the road racing all across the United States. He’s racing on the west coast to start September before concluding the month racing at home in Pennsylvania. The 29-year-old Hanover native is chasing victories to close out his 10th season with the World of Outlaws and is encouraging fans out there to do what they can do to help the Roots for Boots organization.

The 29-year-old Hanover native is chasing victories to close out his 10th season with the World of Outlaws and is encouraging fans out there to do what they can do to help the Roots for Boots organization.

About Roots for Boots
Roots for Boots is a grassroots non-profit whose Mission is to meet the current needs and challenges of our veterans, active duty and military families. We are 100% volunteer and are funded by the community.
Some of our accomplishments include the following:
· Assisting with payment for medical appointments outside of the VA
· Repairing and securing automobiles
· Providing heating oil and paying utility bills
· Assisting with home repairs and lawncare
· Constructing ramps for wheelchairs
· Providing all terrain Action trackchairs
· Assisting veterans with VA issues and employment
· Assisting homeless veterans with supplies when moving into permanent housing (beds, dressers, kitchen supplies, etc)
· Supporting soldiers/Marines and their families during deployments
· Providing educational programs for the library, local schools/universities
