SCHUCHART SCORES A PAIR OF FOURTH-PLACE RUNS IN OUTLAWS TEXAS TWO-STEP
PAIGE, TEXAS (March 6) – Logan Schuchart returned to World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series action this past weekend and scored a pair of fourth-place finishes behind the wheel of the DuraMAX / Drydene / C&D Rigging / NGK / Williams Grading / L&M Tire and Wheel Shark Racing No. 1s.
FRIDAY
Schuchart was one of four Outlaw regulars that entered the weekend with four top-10 runs at the 3/8-mile dirt oval. He qualified seventh and started the opening heat race third. A great start put him into second where he followed his Shark Racing teammate and fast qualifier Jacob Allen to the finish line and into the DIRTVision Fast Pass Dash.
He finished fourth in the six-lap dash and started the 30-lap A-Feature outside of row two. The Hanover, PA driver was in contention for most of the race advancing up to second during a lap eight restart. He followed Sheldon Haudenschild, Cory Eliason and Brad Sweet to the finish line. It was his first top-five and best career finish at the track.
SATURDAY
He qualified 12th out of 29 cars Saturday and finished fourth in the third heat race. In the 30-lap A-Feature, he lined up outside row six. He methodically worked his way forward and on lap 19, he passed Brad Sweet for fifth and on lap 25, he drove around David Gravel for fourth. During the final five laps he closed on James McFadden for third, but couldn’t grab the final spot on the podium. Carson Macedo won over Sam Hafertepe, Jr. and McFadden.
UP NEXT
The Outlaws trek west for their first of two California tours in 2022. First up is a doubleheader at Thunderbowl Raceway in Tulare. Schchuart will be making his 10th appearance at the high-banked 1/3-mile dirt oval in central California. His most memorable weekend at the track came during his rookie season when he led the first 22 laps of the 35-lap opening night feature. He finished 8th that night and followed it up with a run from sixth to second the following night. Catch all the action on DIRTVision Friday and Saturday night.
